Get to know the staff at Main Street Veterinary Hospital

  • Addie Blair
    Practice Manager

    Addie has been in the Veterinary industry since 2004. While in high school, she did an apprenticeship at a veterinary practice in her hometown, Salisbury, North Carolina. She quickly found passion in this ever-growing field. She has worked in emergency, surgery, and general practice. Prior to joining our team, Addie worked as a manager for a large veterinary hospital in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA for eight years and then spent a short time in Pensacola, FL managing a veterinary urgent care. The thing Addie most enjoys about her job is making our clients happy and seeing the staff learn and grow so that they can serve our community best. When she is not at work, she enjoys travelling, shopping, boating, and spending time with her family.

  • Kathleen Bisson
    Head Technician, RVT

    Originally from King George, VA, Kathleen moved down to the North Carolina area in 2014 with her long-time boyfriend. She has since gotten married to her husband Joseph and they both own a sweet Labrador mix named Riley. She attended Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania where she received her bachelor’s in Psychology while she swam competitively for the Division I team all 4 years. She graduated from veterinary technician school at Northern Virginia Community College where she participated in the online distance program.  She enjoys coming into work every day and seeing the bond owners have with their animals as well as learning more about animal behaviors and their influence on people. In her free time she enjoys exploring the outdoors by biking, kayaking, swimming and more.

  • Brianna Cataldo
    Kennel Manager

    Brianna Cataldo is a native of New York but has decided to call the Lake Norman area home. She has been with Main Street Veterinary Hospital since mid 2017. Her professional experience includes her years as a kennel attendant and team leader when she worked for Pet Paradise and The Meadows Bed n' Biscuit. She is proud to be leading the kennel team at Main Street and enjoys building trust with the pets who come to stay and relationships with their owners, too! She plans to go to school to become a Veterinary Technician. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking and singing. She has two guinea pigs (Bentley and Wilson), a bird (AJ) and a turtle (Stinky).

  • Brooke Pless

    Brooke was born and raised in Concord, North Carolina. She grew up having dogs and loves all animals big and small! In 2017, she moved to Cornelius with her fiance. She worked as an educator in the childcare field for almost 7 years and decided to trade the human babies for fur babies. Brooke joined Main Street Veterinary Hospital in Spring of 2019. She has three fur-kids that she absolutely adores: Ellie, a Pitbull/Labrador mix dog, Arnie, a Yorkshire Terrier mix dog, and Ollie, a tabby cat. In Brooke's time away from work, she loves to be outside soaking in the sunshine, taking naps with her fur-kids, working out, or visiting the Lucky Dog Bark & Brew with her fiance and fur kids.  Brooke aspires to go further in veterinary medicine and is looking forward to building relationships with the clients and their fur babies.

  • Heather Melin

    Heather was born in New York, and shortly after, her family moved to Mooresville, NC where she has lived for the last 28 years. She graduated from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in 2012 with an Associate of Science Degree in Surgical Technology. She has always loved animals both big and small. Heather and her boyfriend adopted their fur-baby, Rockie, in 2015. Rockie is a Catahoula Leopard Dog that has lots of energy and is loved very much. In her free time, Heather enjoys hiking, supporting her boyfriend riding at the motocross track, swimming at the lake, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

    She has been supporting the Main Street team as a customer service representative since Summer of 2019 and is looking forward to building connections with the clients and patients.

  • Natalie Powell

    Born in North Carolina, Natalie joined our team as a receptionist and kennel assistant in May 2018. She graduated from Western Piedmont Community College with her Associate of Arts Degree and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Business at UNC Charlotte. She comes to us from One Lucky Pup Inc. where she was a handler and office assistant. Natalie has always had a passion for animals, no matter how big or small! She has 2 dogs, a rescue Border Collie mix named Porsche and a German Shepherd named Audi. In her free time, she likes to go on the lake, read, spend time with friends and family, and loves to travel any chance she gets!

  • Sara Tapia

    Before living in Charlotte, Sara was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. Sara graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. She moved to the Charlotte area in August 2015. Growing up, the only pets Sara ever had were fish and rabbits. When she moved to the area is when she soon found her love for dogs when she adopted a little Black Lab named Opal who soon stole her heart and became her best friend. For Opal’s birthday in May 2016, she received the present of a sister – an Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix named Luna. When Sara’s not working, she’s spending time with her boyfriend, Tony Tapia, going to the movies, exploring new parts of Charlotte, or going on walks with their pups and going to dog parks.

  • Mandy Michalak

    Mandy joined the Main Street team in July 2020 after being a client and enjoying the care and compassion her pets received. She also currently teaches at Pure Barre in Birkdale part time. Mandy grew up in Connecticut, where she met and married her husband, Brandyn, who was in the Army. After having five children, the Army relocated them to Texas for the next decade. In 2017, Mandy and her family moved to Davidson, North Carolina to be closer to her mother. Mandy has three dogs (Sweet Caroline, O'Reiley, and Lady Diana) and one sassy kitty named Oprah Winfrey. Mandy's family keep busy all on their own but they especially enjoy volunteering in the community, hiking, all sports, cooking and visiting local breweries. They are also active church members. Mandy looks forward to getting to know all of our clients and their furry companions. 

  • Ashley Patterson
    Veterinary Technician

    Ashley is one of the very few people who grew up local to Charlotte. Ashley’s love for animals started at a young age. Her mother worked at an animal hospital and as a young girl she would beg her mother to take her to work so she could pet the animals.

    Ashley attended Gaston College in the Veterinary Technician program. Ashley and her fiance, Mark have six dogs together which are all rescues.  (Rex, Milo, Maybelle, Layla, and Hope). At times they have been called the “Brady Bunch.”  She also has a rabbit named Zoey along with three leopard geckos. Ashley loves seeing the bond between owners and their beloved pets as well as getting to know them and building relationships. When free time comes along she enjoys spending it with friends and family outdoors, attempting some sort of DIY project and spending time with all of the dogs and Mark doing nothing.

  • Alyssa Shepherd
    Veterinary Technician

    Alyssa Shepherd has been working in veterinary medicine since moving to the Charlotte area in 2003. A lover of both cats and dogs, Alyssa’s favorite element of working in animal medicine is forming bonds with clients and understanding the personal relationship they have with their pets. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and watching football (Detroit Lions and Ohio State) with her husband and high school sweetheart, Jake. Alyssa and Jake welcomed their daughter in March of 2019, who is already also an animal lover and enjoys hanging out with the family’s three-legged pit bull, three and a half legged indoor cat, and one outdoor cat that adopted them, rather than the other way around.

  • Dena Ianniello
    Veterinary Technician

    Born and raised in Boca Raton Florida, Dena grew up with many animals and immediately became an animal lover at a very young age. Dena always knew she wanted a career involving animals and animal care. In 2005 Dena moved to North Carolina and has worked in multiple daycare and boarding facilities. Dena proudly rescued her first dog, a pit mix named Kane. In 2016 Dena earned a degree in veterinary assisting through Ashworth Colleges online program. She is currently working on earning her veterinary technician degree. While Dena is not working she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on hikes/walks with Kane and traveling.

  • Haley Hardwick
    Veterinary Technician

    Haley joined our Vet Tech Staff in August 2015. Haley comes to us with many years of veterinary experience. She was born and raised in Mooresville, but fell in love with Davidson. She loved Davidson so much that she purchased a home in the area. She has her own three legged yellow lab mix named Phoebe, a chihuahua full of personality and ready for adventure named Zoey, and two cats, Marley and Pumpkin. In her free time she enjoys house work (crazy right?), cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and of course her pets. Her favorite aspect of the veterinary field is building long lasting relationships with our clients and their pets. She even pet sits for quite a few of our clients and loves the bond it forms between her and the pets. Prior to working in the veterinary field, she fostered for the Lake Norman Humane Society. She feels that she is right at home in this field and can’t imagine doing anything else.

  • Kristan Honeycutt
    Veterinary Technician

    Kristan Honeycutt is from Marietta, GA. She has been working in the animal industry since 2015 and has been a veterinary technician since 2017. She has 3 dogs named Bella, Bueller and Cody. She enjoys hanging out with her family and boyfriend, watching Netflix and going to the movies. She is currently working on her undergraduate in Animal Science with a goal of someday going to vet school to become a Veterinarian!

  • Kristen Nause
    Veterinary Technician & Groomer

    Kristen began her work in the veterinary field in the Spring of 2017. While she has been grooming for many years, that passion eventually translated into the desire to help treat pets and further build bonds with them and their owners. She has two pets of her own: Reeko (Bengal Mix cat) and Felix (Somali Mix cat.) When Kristen isn't working, she finds herself reading, kayaking, hiking, hanging out with her family, traveling, and cooking. Kristen is also the genius behind our famous statue, Zeke, and his entertaining wardrobe. She is the third staff member to have taken on this duty (Linda E. being the original, Cassandra the second, and now Kristen.)

  • Linda Engelmann
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Linda has always had a passion for animals and earned her registered technician degree from Gaston College in 1999. She gets her love of nature from her grandfather.

    Known as the “cat whisperer,” she does everything possible to make sure our feline patients are comfortable. She is an experienced dental and surgical technician but also enjoys helping our furry patients in the exam room.

    Linda lives in Iron Station with her husband whom she met while volunteering at the Carolina Raptor Center. They share their home with six cats. On their days off they enjoy hiking, photography, gardening and canoeing. She currently volunteers for Meals on Wheels.

  • Meagan McDonald
    Veterinary Technician

    Meagan was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. She grew up with a love and passion for animals. When she was a child, she would help her father at the dairy farm where he worked. Meagan loved snakes when she was younger. She began her career at a boarding facility where she worked for 4 and a half years before joining Main Street in 2019. Meagan is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at Gaston College. 

    She shares her home with her fiancé, Jayson, two boston terriers, Daisy and Ivy, Minni the pug, and May, an American bulldog. In her free time, Meagan enjoys taking her dogs for walks, baking, spending time with her family, and watching Netflix.  

  • Linda McCloskey
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Linda and her family are recent transfers North Carolina. Tired of the traffic in Washington DC, they settled on the quaint, quiet town of Denver, NC. Sean, her college sweetheart and husband of 23 years, and their three children joined them in this new adventure.Linda graduated from Frostburg State University in 1993 with a bachelor’s in Wildlife/Fisheries Management. Three children and 15 years later in 2012, she fulfilled her dream and graduated with honors from the veterinary technician school at Northern Virginia Community College. When not at work, Linda enjoys kayaking and hiking with her dogs Tanner and Gunner, or chilling on the couch watching HGTV with her daughter Megan.

  • Addie Davis
    Kennel Assistant

    Addie was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. She grew up on a farm with all kinds of animals which is where her passion and love for animals came from. Before joining the team at Main Street, she worked at a boarding facility for 5 years, caring for the animals and working at the front desk. She is currently in school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She lives with her fiancé, (Cameron), son (Aiden), and two fur babies (Bubba- German Shepherd mix & Lincoln- Beagle mix). In her free time she likes to spend time with family, hike/walk and cook.

  • Luciana Faraci
    Veterinary Technician

    Luciana relocated to North Carolina with her dog, Callie and cat, Anubis in 2020. Luciana has worked in the Veterinary field since 2016 and really enjoys the quality of care that is provided to our patients at Main Street. In her free time, Luciana enjoys cooking, playing video games, and hiking with her dog. 

  • Rebekah Waller
    Veterinary Technician

    Rebekah joined our Veterinary Technician team in June 2020. Rebekah has spent most of her career working in Emergency medicine and is excited to get to know our clients an patients here at Main Street. She really enjoys wound care and running anesthesia. When not at work, you can find Rebekah camping, at a car show, or at home with her husband, step-daughter, and pets. She has three dogs, Maggie the Bassett, Tyson the Boxer, and Meeche the Pibull. She also has pet chickens that she loves to spend time with.
