Groomer

​​​​​​​Sommer is a North Carolina native, born in Charlotte and raised in the Mooresville area, with a lifelong passion for working with animals. She earned her grooming certification through Penn Foster and is a Fear Free Certified groomer with three years of hands-on experience. Sommer works with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes, focusing on creating a calm, low-stress experience so every pet feels safe, comfortable, and confident.

Her love for animals began early while growing up around her parents’ pet store and pet sitting business. Although she initially considered a career as a veterinarian or vet technician, her path led her to grooming, where she found the perfect blend of hands-on care, creativity, and connection with pets.

Sommer has a special interest in behavioral care and dermatology, with a focus on skin and coat health. She enjoys helping identify concerns like allergies or irritation and believes grooming plays an important role in a pet’s overall well-being.

At home, Sommer shares life with her fiancée, Brooke, and their lively “mini zoo,” which includes six cats: Blair, Biscuit, Slade, Buffy, Valak, and Albus, a dog named Tillie, and a bird named Kiwi. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, reading, crafting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Sommer is excited to bring her skills, compassion, and Fear Free approach to the Main Street team, helping every pet look and feel their very best.
