June 2026 Newsletter

Emergencies and unexpected health concerns can happen at any time, not just during regular business hours. When Main Street Veterinary is closed, we want you to still feel supported and know where to turn for help. At these times, clients can be connected with Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) through their “Vegetarian” program for after-hours veterinary guidance and direction.

Please note: Main Street Veterinary and VEG are separate, independently owned organizations. This partnership does not involve shared ownership or financial ties. We remain a privately owned practice and continue to collaborate with VEG solely to improve access to timely emergency care for our clients.

What this means for you

● After-hours support when you need it most

  • When Main Street is closed, our phones will now provide the option to connect directly with VEG’s medical team. Clients can speak with a veterinarian in real time for guidance on next steps.

● Clear direction and reduced uncertainty

  • Instead of navigating emergency decisions alone, clients can get immediate professional input. In some cases, a visit to the ER may not be necessary. In others, VEG can quickly determine urgency and help ensure pets receive timely care.

● Seamless collaboration for urgent cases

  • For pets needing emergency hospitalization, our doctors can coordinate directly with VEG clinicians to share records and medical details ahead of arrival, helping streamline care and reduce delays.

● Enhanced support for referred cases

  • For pets transferred to VEG:

  • The exam fee is waived

  • Clients receive 15% off the total invoice

At the heart of this relationship is one goal: making sure our clients are supported even when we’re not open. Having immediate access to veterinary guidance after hours helps reduce stress, improve decision-making, and ensures pets get the right care at the right time.

🚘Never Leave Pets In Hot Cars🚘

As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that even a quick stop can become dangerous for your pet. Cars heat up rapidly, often reaching life-threatening temperatures within minutes, even on mild days or with the windows cracked. In this month’s feature, we’re highlighting the serious risks of leaving pets in parked cars, the warning signs of heat-related illness, and simple steps you can take to keep your pets safe all summer long.
