Staff Appreciation Week

A lot has changed since we first opened our doors. Today, our team is 52 strong: 4 owner veterinarians, 5 associate veterinarians, 18 veterinary technicians and assistants, 9 client service representatives, 7 pet care attendants, 4 groomers, 4 managers, and me, their hospital director. We have grown, moved into a new hospital, expanded our services, and welcomed thousands of pets into the Main Street family.

But the heart of Main Street has never really changed.

At the center of what we do is compassion. For our patients. For our clients. And for each other. Veterinary medicine is so much more than what you see during an appointment. It is long days and hundreds of hours of continuing education. It is lying awake thinking about a patient, checking the schedule the next morning to see how they are doing, celebrating good news together, and sharing tears when the news is hard.

It is also puppy kisses, kitten snuggles, and the joy that comes when you let us dog-nap your new puppy, where they will be shown off, kissed excessively, and told repeatedly that they are the bestest boy or girl. Those little moments mean more to us than you probably realize.

This year, that same team worked incredibly hard to earn AAHA accreditation, meeting more than 900 rigorous standards of veterinary excellence. Not because a plaque changes how much we care, but because the pets and people who trust us deserve a team that never stops learning and striving to be better.

So this month, instead of introducing you to one employee, we wanted to celebrate all 52 of them. The voice answering your call. The hands holding your nervous dog. The person sitting on the floor earning your cat’s trust. The pet care attendant giving the extra belly rub before bedtime. The groomer making sure your pet feels safe. The technician watching over your pet during anesthesia. The veterinarian still thinking about your pet long after the appointment is over. And all the people behind the scenes making sure we are ready to do it all again tomorrow.

This is Main Street.

We laugh here. We cry here. We learn here. We occasionally get peed on here.
And through all of it, we care deeply.
Thank you for trusting us with the pets you love.
We love what we do, and we are incredibly grateful that we get to do it for you.
