Dr. Amanda Goodwin

Once a gymnast, collegiate pole vaulter and soccer player, Dr. Goodwin’s love of animals eventually conquered that of athletics when she took an apprenticeship assisting Dr. Bonar at the Cleveland Zoo while an undergraduate student at Case Western Reserve University. After double majoring in biology and chemistry, Dr. Goodwin was admitted to The Ohio State University where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Seeking a warmer life, Dr. Goodwin migrated to the Carolina’s and has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Lake Norman area since 2008. An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Goodwin can regularly be found exploring the beautiful mountains and beaches of the Carolina’s with her fiancé Michael, two retired racing greyhounds, Lydia and Caleb, and rescued beagle mix Furn (their three-legged cat, Lucy, stays at home).

Dedicated to forming lifelong, collaborative partnerships with clients and their pets, Dr. Goodwin’s special interests include surgery and animal behavior.
