Dr. Whitlock is originally from Pennsylvania, but has lived in the South for 25 years. She received both her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science and Master’s degree in Earth and Environmental Resources Management at the University of South Carolina. While in college she worked in a small animal hospital and adopted her first dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer named Toby. Initially she was a pet owner who just loved her dog as a family member and wanted to do everything she could for him. After having the opportunity to work with other dogs and cats that were just as special as Toby, Dr. Whitlock quickly knew her future was in veterinary medicine. Wanting to come back to the Carolinas after completing her Veterinary degree at the University of Georgia, she is happy to have settled in Huntersville. She has been practicing Veterinary medicine in the Lake Norman area for the past eleven years. Dr. Whitlock has a special interest in dentistry, ophthalmology, and internal medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Whitlock enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family. Her family includes her husband Jon, children Elsa and Simon, and a very high energy young dog named Zeke.
